The Peachtree Data Checker is a free utility that you can use to scan your Peachtree for Windows data to determine if your files are physically corrupted. The Data Checker does not modify your Peachtree files in any fashion, and is completely safe to use. After the Data Checker scan is complete, you'll be presented with a report that will indicate if any problems were found.
This utility works with the following versions of Peachtree, including Accounting, Complete, Pro, Premium, and Quantum versions

- Peachtree 2007 (Version 14.0)
- Peachtree 2006 (Version 13.0)
- Peachtree 2005 (Version 12.0)

Step 1: Download the Data Checker
Click here to download the Peachtree Data Checker.
When prompted, click the Open button.

|
Step 2: Acknowledge the Security Warning
If you encounter this security warning, click Yes.
|
|
|
Step 3: Wait While the Installation Initializes
This step takes a few moments. No action is required on your part.
|
|
|
Step 4: Begin the Install Process
Click Next when this screen appears.
|
|
|
Step 5: Specify Setup Type
Click Next when this screen appears to accept the Typical setup choice.
|
|
|
Step 6: Wait while the Data Checker is installed
This step takes a few moments. No action is required on your part.
|
|
|
Step 7: Installation Complete
Click the Finish button when this screen appears.
|
|
|
Step 8: Launch the Data Checker
A Data Checker icon should appear on your Desktop. If not, click Start, All Programs, and then Data Checker for Peachtree. If you cannot locate Data Checker for Peachtree on the All Programs menu, follow these steps:
- Click Start
- Click Run
- Type C: and then click OK
- If necessary, click Show the Contents of This Folder
- Double-click on the Program Files folder
- Double-click on the Multiware folder
- Double-click on the Data Checker for Peachtree folder
- Double-click on DataCheckerForPeachtreeV16-AcctAdv.exe

Step 9: Click the Select Company button.
|
|
|
Step 10: Select your Peachtree Company
Select your Peachtree company from the list, and then click OK.
|
|
|
Step 11: Click the Check Data button
|
|
|
Step 12: Wait While Your Data is Checked
This step could take several minutes. No action is required on your part.

Step 13: Review the Report
A report will appear automatically. Click here to view a sample data checker report.
|
|
|
Step 14: If You Have Data Damage...
Click here to initiate a data repair request. Copy and paste the Data Checker Report into the request form to help expedite your repair.

|
Step 15: Close the Report and the Data Checker
Once you close the Data Checker Report, you can then click the Exit button to close the Peachtree Data Checker. Note: the Exit button is disabled until you close the Data Checker Report.
